Moreover, it can cause an infection in virtually every part of the body starting from the skin and genitals with the ability to spread to the underlying vital organs. Even though genital yeast infection is by far the most common type of

Thus, there is always a considerable demand for the remedies that can treat this often difficult to treat infection. However, the problem with most medications prescribed by doctors is the number of side effects they cause which can at times eclipse the respite they bring by clearing the infection. Stay Away from Sugar

Sugar and CandidaAs we all know that yeast/fungi grow well on sugar and since Candida is a fungus, it is very much essential to plan a diet with minimal provision on sugar and other such ingredients. Remember if your meals are rich in sugar, then you are basically helping those yeasts to thrive well within your body’s kingdom of health and allowing them to develop even faster and stronger.

A study was conducted taking into consideration almost 28 healthy individuals to investigate the growth of Candida albicans in the intestinal tract due to an addition of carbohydrate intake. The 28 volunteer participants were then tested in order to determine their usual intake amount of refined carbohydrates. A similar test was undertaken where the participants had to consume sugar rich foods. The measurements were conducted before this diet change, then during this process and also thereafter. It was seen that no adverse effect took place neither was there an increased growth of Candida due to increase in the rate of consumption of carbohydrate. This study just goes to show that a carbohydrate diet doesn’t really increase the growth of Candida within the body, but also a high carbohydrate diet doesn’t prevent Candida overgrowth, so the main objective is to keep the sugar intake down and following an anti Candida diet. However, having a little sugar in our diet is very much essential to eliminate the risk of Candida from your body as well, but there are various steps to be followed for complete recovery and it would not be wise to think that curtailing only your sugar consumption is the sole way out.

Other Things to Consider

When you do have signs of Candida yeast infection within your body, changing the initial diet can be the hardest to do. Below are some things to consider:

  • A strict anti Candida diet must be accompanied by a healthy consumption of water which helps in flushing out the toxic elements present within the body. This helps in limiting and eradicating the Candida colonies easily.

  • Throughout the initial diet process, one must stick to boiled vegetables, soups and salads. It is better to avoid oil and fats of any kind or form. Such a healthy diet will help to relax every muscle in your body and help you feel refreshed.

  • The good diet does not make you avoid everything available; however it enables you to keep foods with high Glycemic value out of your reach. The restriction ensures that your body is not deprived off the nourishment it requires.

  • Apart from sugar, starchy vegetables and caffeine drinks should also be avoided while you are under treatment.

  • Avoid stress as it can increase your chances of Candida yeast infection in your body.

Anti Candida Diet Foods to Embrace

  • Vegetables that will help you during this phase includes asparagus, avocado, sprouts, Brussels, eggplant, cucumber, kale, olives, onions, tomatoes, zucchini, spinach, garlic, celery, cabbage, cauliflower, and broccoli.

  • Consuming non-starchy vegetables keeps the Candida starving and deprived and therefore restricting their colonization.

A study in the ‘British Journal of Dermatology’ was conducted among 100 patients suffering from chronic urticaria who were frequent visitors in the Outpatient Department of the Bristol General Hospital.

Candida Prick Test
Allergy Prick Test
Testing Candida in these patients showed Type I/ Type III scenario in almost 36 of these patients. It was then determined that approximately 26% of these patients with chronic urticarial Candida albicans suffered from sensitivity issues to the prick test. The prick test was found to be the most important indicator of the effect of sugar and when such a challenge emerges to be positive, 69% of the volunteers or patients are observed suffering from sensitivity. The study proved the prick test to be a useful indicator as yeast foods did cause a higher reaction in the patients with Candida albicans, hence the obvious remedy in such scenarios would be a proper anti Candida diet and keeping the sugar consumption low.

Since it is understood how important it is to keep sugar out of reach for Candida patients, it is best to advise them to use some sweeteners instead like: Stevia and Xylitol. The impact of these sweeteners will be much less and not harmful. Since caffeine can not be consumed in excess during Candida treatment, it’s better to indulge in some decaf drinking habits which should include decaffeinated tea and decaffeinated coffee, green tea, licorice tea and ginger tea.

Besides eating and drinking healthy food, follow a gentle workout regime that will not only keep you light and fresh, as well as help you attain sound sleep.
